The story of Butterfly begun a long time ago since 2011, where we envisioned ourselves to be an innovative service provider revolutionizing the F&B and hospitality industry. It all begun as we witnessed first-hand how inefficiencies in the dining experience could heavily impact and discount customer experience. On this note, we decided to foray into the technology space and revolutionize the entire dining and retail experience through both our software and hardware products and solutions.
With our strong desire to succeed and innovate, Butterfly became the first to offer a fully integrated eMenu ordering solution in Singapore. In addition, we were also the first to offer eMenu on both Android and Apple IOS platform in Singapore. As Butterfly continued to grow and flourish under the hard work and commitment of our dedicated team, we soon expanded and introduced our service offerings overseas, in countries such as Myanmar and even Mongolia.
With the support from our exclusive partners, such as Changi Airport Group and NCR, Butterfly has accumulated an impressive array of customers, such as Burger King, as well as well known chain stores such as Ajisen. Butterfly’s long journey is definitely reflective of our commitment and success in improving business outcomes and value adding to customer experience.
Growth and Expansion
Within a few years of establishment, Butterfly has successfully installed multiple eMenu systems at various restaurant outlets of our clients. Having helped businesses improve their ordering processes through automation, increased productivity and reduced reliance on manpower, Butterfly soon expanded to offer Self Service Kiosk, facilitating self-service by customers while fully integrating the kiosk to the kitchen display and buzzer system. This new product offering remains aligned to Butterfly’s core value proposition of streamlining F&B business processes while offering customers a unique and enjoyable dining experience that is suited to meet today’s needs and preferences.
New Avenues of Growth – Creating a Revolutionary Chip Redemption Kiosk
In 2017, as part of Butterfly’s mission to continuously reinvent itself and stay relevant in the market, we collaborated with Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), to invent the world’s first Chip Redemption Kiosk. This groundbreaking invention was developed by Butterfly to improve current chip redemption and exchange processes. Both the hardware and software mechanisms are proprietary and carefully designed and engineered by our team at Butterfly. All in all, this was a seven figure breakthrough project, demonstrating Butterfly’s versatile creativity and extensive project management skills.
Creating New Ways of Working
With our vast experience and expertise in designing and engineering both Point of Sales and kiosk software as well as hardware systems, we spearheaded the world’s first Chip Redemption Kiosk project for RWS and have successfully launched it. Our Chip Redemption Kiosk was carefully designed to address current pain points of long queues and waiting time in many Casinos, especially when redeeming money or exchanging foreign currency for chips at the casino. With our Chip Redemption Kiosk, patrons can now obtain cash payouts and return chips automatically, reducing the previously manual and highly inefficient process. Not only does this increase productivity, it also brings about the following key benefits:
- Reduce manpower reliance and cost
- Eliminate wrong payout amount due to human error
- Improve customer experience (i.e. waiting time)
- Reduce queues especially during peak hours
- Increased security of the chips redemption system
How Does It Work?
Our Chip Redemption Kiosk adopts a highly secure and efficient operating system. All chips used are RFID tagged, thus the exact amount will be paid out to patrons once they drop the chips (up to 40 chips per transaction) into the kiosk where an RFID reader would automatically scan and read the chips. Our intelligent design ensures that only valid chips would be collected in a built-in chip bin with a capacity of up to 5000 pieces and complete with a safety lock, whereas invalid chips will be rejected and dispensed into an external return tray. Following which, patron’s payout will be duly dispensed (up to 100 notes per bundle), facilitating a fuss free and safe transaction experience. In order to provide an all encompassing experience, our kiosk also comes with the following key features:
- Multiple language display (i.e. English, Chinese, Bahasa Melayu)
- Internal safe door consisting of both a digital and key lock
- Digital signage panel
- Auto alerts when receipt paper or cash float is low
- Dashboard, back-office and management console reports offering real time status, remote controls and configurable settings
- Interface to both casino management system and subsystems
